It just made sense to use money already set aside for demolition to instead turn this building into a community arts centre and park pavilion serving Four Mile Run Park, and its adjacent, underserved and diverse community, rather than tearing it down. Working in conjunction with City of Alexandria and Architects Anonymous to create a new, flexible and exciting recreational offering, this project is the current hallmark of community activism and outreach efforts by this firm. Over 50% of professional services required to make this project become a reality were donated, and further demonstrate a strong commitment to both increasing architectural awareness and expanding community involvement.
